We welcome first-year graduate students, Xu (张旭) and Zhiyang (刘志阳), to join the group! Xu is an undergraduate of Peking University and Zhiyang comes to us from Peking University, too.

Welcome Zhi (张智) to join us as an undergraduate researcher. He will work with Xingjian on poly(disulfide) synthesis!

Another graduate season…we are proud but also sad to see them go (or not?). Ruishi (shown) will stay for a little longer before leaving for the other side of the Pacific Ocean. Xiaofei will follow her step soon as well. Yunfan will join the Medical School of PKU for his graduate study. Zhiyang and Xu will enjoy their summer before returning as a graduate student in the department. All the others are too shy to have their photos posted, but we wish them the best!

Yun has been named by the department to receive NG Teng Fong / Sino Scholarship for Outstanding Youth from the University!

Tianyu was named to receive the Chancellor Fellowship of Peking University this year. Great job!

The No. 1 PhD from Liu Group! Tianyi successfully passed his thesis defense today. In the past four years with us, Tianyi have developed the first regioselective synthesis of poly(disulfide)s, discovered an intriguing catalytic mode, and then used this understanding to develop new catalysts with superior performance. What a serendipitous journey! In the next stop, he will join Midea (美的) to work on new exciting materials!

Tianyu's paper is also accepted in Angew Chem Int Ed! Wonderful work from our own team, congrats to Tianyu, Ruishi, Bowen, and Tianyi! We have discovered an old reaction from literature and turned it into our favor in making aryl-containing poly(disulfide)s.

Welcome Yichen (姜羿臣) to join us as an undergraduate researcher. He will work on many different projects, OMG!

Miaomiao's paper is accepted in Angew Chem Int Ed! Congrats to Miaomiao, Tianyi, and Shihao. Working with Cheng Wang, an AI-for-chemistry expert from Xiamen University, we applied data science tools to understand transition state stabilization of the catalyzed polymer chain propagation.

Welcome Jizheng (杨基正) to join us as an undergraduate researcher. He will also work with Tianyu on aryl-containing poly(disulfide)s!

Welcome Baitong (曾百彤) to join us as an undergraduate researcher. He will work with Tianyu on designing new aryl-containing poly(disulfide)s!

Liu Group end-of-year celebration! It has been a year of growing group size and we are happy to see every still work like a team. Bravo!

Yun has been appointed the Associate Chair of the Department of Polymer Science and Technology. Yun will be responsible primarily for graduate training.

Welcome Zhiyang (刘志阳) to join us also for his thesis, in which he will explore how N atom can be tamed under force!
