雷晓光实验室招收有机合成专业博士后

A Roche-PKU joint postdoc fellowship is immediately available in the laboratory of Prof. Xiaoguang Lei at Peking University.
Prof. Lei’s group focuses on organic synthesis and chemical biology. One of our major research interests is to discover natural product-based next generation antibiotics. The lack of success in mining synthetic compounds for leads for new antimicrobial agents has contributed to the flight of the pharmaceutical sector from antibiotic discovery leaving an innovation gap at a critical time when antibiotics are increasingly needed as multi drug resistance in many microbial pathogens is on the rise. We aim to accelerate the development of more efficacious antibiotic drugs based on novel natural products. Through efficient synthesis and modification, we will be able to identify new analogs or derivatives to tackle drug resistance challenges.
The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in organic synthesis, especially in complex natural product synthesis. Solid research background in chemical biology and medicinal chemistry could also be considered. High level of motivation and independence and the ability to think critically are expected. Ideal candidates must have good written/oral communication skills. PhD candidates expected graduation by the end of 2016 are also encouraged to apply.
This postdoc fellowship is with highly competitive salary, which is fully supported by Roche, the global leading pharmaceutical company. The postdoc fellow will conduct research in Prof. Lei’s group at Peking University, and will also have a lot of opportunities to interact with Roche’s scientists through monthly joint meetings as well as annual symposium hosted by Roche. The postdoc fellow will gain ample experience in both natural product synthesis and drug discovery process.

Full application package including curriculum vitae, a brief research summary of your previous and current most significant accomplishments, selected reprints of publications, three references contact information and expected availability date should be submitted via email to:
