    Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is the most advanced nuclear medical imaging equipment at present. Using radioactive isotope tracer and positron emission detection technique,the biological characteristics and biochemical metabolic processes of tissues and organs, such as functional changes, cell metabolism, molecular binding and information transfer, were observed at the level of tissue cells, subcellular and molecular level . Computed tomography (CT) detects the difference in X-ray absorptivity between tissues, which clearly shows the changes in tissue structure and anatomical morphology of living animals. Small animal PET / CT imaging system canachieve anatomical morphological imaging and functional imaging simultaneously ,so PET/CT is the most advanced multi-modal imaging in drug research .

     

    Mediso nanoScan® PET 122S imaging system has these key benefits:

    • Highest resolution PET subsystem with outstanding quantification:≤ 0.7 mm resolution (measured with Derenzo phantom and reconstructed with Tera-Tomo™ 3D PET engine)
    • Imaging capability for larger animals, such as monkeys with 16cm gantry bore diameter and 12 cm Transaxial Field of View (TFOV) in both modalities
    • Fully integrated with MultiCell™, the complete small animal environment system to provide vital support functions to lab animals during the whole application process
    • Integrated cardiac and respiratory gating capabilities for both PET and CT
