Chunhong Wang’s work titled “Cationic Micelle-Catalyzed In Vivo Cleavage Chemistry” published online in Angewandte Chemie (DOI: 10.1002/anie.202106526). In contrast to the classical in vivo reactions regulation strategy, Liu's group selectively up-regulated the rate constant of the desilylation reaction in tumor by introducing cationic micelles as an "in vivo catalyst" from a new novel perspective.

Dongban Duan’s work titled “Desilylation Induced by Metal Fluoride Nanocrystals Enables Cleavage Chemistry In Vivo” published online in J. Am. Chem. Soc. (DOI: 10.1021/jacs.0c10399). Liu’s group take CaF2 as an example to show that the metal fluoride nanocrystals could release adequate F- to trigger the desilylation chemistry both in vitro and in vivo, empowering metal fluoride nanocrystals with a new function of perturbing or activating for biological applications.

Yaxin shi’s work titled “Tracing Boron with Fluorescence and Positron Emission Tomography Imaging of Boronated Porphyrin Nanocomplex for Imaging-Guided Boron Neutron Capture Therapy” published online in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (DOI: 10.1021/acsami.8b14682)
Taking the advantage of the nanodrug delivery system, a novel boronated porphyrin nanocomplex was developed by Liu’s group, providing a successful approach in boronated porphyrin delivery for imaging-guided BNCT.

25 January 2018: Dongban Duan’s work titled “Activating TiO2 Nanoparticles: Gallium-68 Serves as a High-Yield Photon Emitter for Cerenkov-Induced Photodynamic Therapy” published online in ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces. (DOI: 10.1021/acsami.7b17902). This study proved that Ga-68 is a more potent radionuclide for photodynamic therapy than F-18 both in vitro and in vivo, giving a promising strategy of using a diagnostic dose of radioactivity to achieve depth-independent cancer therapy without using any external light source.
