The Basic Science Center for Air Key Component Transformation consists of five mid-career and young scholars and their teams dedicated to research in the field. The center is supported by Peking University, Fudan University, and the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, providing a solid foundation and platform for the center's projects. The main research interests of the five core members are as follows:
Zhenfeng Xi, Professor, College of Chemistry, Peking University: Mainly engaged in the coordination activation of nitrogen and the direct synthesis of nitrogen-containing organic compounds from nitrogen gas, as well as the coupling conversion of nitrogen and oxygen.
Shengming Ma, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Fudan University: Focuses on high-selectivity clean catalytic oxidation using oxygen or air as an oxidant.
Zhang-Jie Shi, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Fudan University: Engages in new organic synthesis strategies for the direct synthesis of nitrogen-containing organic compounds from nitrogen gas, as well as the coupling conversion of nitrogen and oxygen.
Ping Chen, Professor, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences: Conducts research on new catalyst systems and processes for nitrogen activation and conversion, as well as the coupling conversion of nitrogen and small organic molecules.
Dehui Deng, Professor, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences: Conducts research on the catalytic oxidation and conversion process of low-carbon alkanes, as well as the coupling conversion of nitrogen and oxygen.
