阐明分子结构,分子间相互作用,和分子间能量传递是理解各种化学现象,材料性质,和生命科学的基础。传统的分子表征手段,如质谱,核磁共振,和X射线衍射,由于自身的限制对自然界里很多物理化学过程的探测有极大的局限性。如何创造新技术,尤其是利用超快激光在空间上,时间上,和能量态上全方位解析宏观材料和生命现象背后隐含的分子的基本结构和动力学过程是当今化学和物理研究的一个共同难题。
