The First Total Synthesis of Schindilactone A Has Been Achieved

The group has completed the first total synthesis of Schindilactone A in 29 steps. The synthetic route features a Wagner-Meerwein ring expansion reaction, a ring closing metathesis (RCM), a Co₂(CO)₈/TMTU catalyzed Pauson-Khand reaction and a Pd(OAc)₂/thiourea catalyzed carbonylative annulation reaction. This synthesis was published on Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. as the cover page paper. Congratulations!
