Yechen grew up in Jinan, Shandong (山东济南市). He received his B.S. in chemistry from Shandong University. During his undergraduate, he worked on the synthesis and modification of multifunctional polysiloxane in Prof. Li Lei’s group. In 2023, he joined the Liu group, finding his interest toward dynamic covalent chemistry. His current research is topology-controlled polymerization of poly(disulfide)s. Outside of lab, Yechen enjoys basketball, singing, and playing video games.
