Dr. Liu, Yun

Assistant Professor
yun.liu@pku.edu.cn

Yun was born and raised in Fuzhou, Fujian (福建福州市), known as the city of good fortune. Yun obtained his B.S. in Chemistry at Xiamen University where he was trained in both synthetic organic chemistry and supramolecular chemistry. Yun then moved across the Pacific Ocean to pursue his Ph.D. in the laboratory of Prof. Amar H. Flood at Indiana University, Bloomington. His doctoral research centered on host-guest chemistry of anions, leveraging the triazole-based CH hydrogen bond donors and was recognized by the 2018 IUPAC-Solvay International Award for Young Chemists with an honorable mention award. Yun stayed in the mid-west conducting his postdoctoral work with Prof. Jeffrey S. Moore at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where he added mechanochemistry and dynamic covalent chemistry to his list of expertise. In September 2021, Yun joined the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at PKU as an Assistant Professor of polymer chemistry and engineering.
