Introduction

Our laboratory was set up in May 2001, as sponsored by the “985 Plans” and “211 Projects” of Peking University. After having undergone twelve years of construction and improvement, the laboratory has already in its roster a group of talented personnel as well as sufficient experimental conditions to carry on researches on organic optoelectronic material evaluation, device fabrication and evaluation.

Focusing on the combination of basic research and application research, our laboratory has been abreast with application technology developments regarding national significant demands while solidly conducting basic research. Mainly based on the researches of the relationship between the structure of organic or polymeric material and their optoelectronic functions, our laboratory energetically run studies on new optoelectronic functional materials, as well as device physics and process technologies in assembling many kinds of sole materials into optoelectronic functional devices. At present, the main researches involve a wide range of fields such as small molecule and polymer light emitting materials and devices, organic photovoltaic cells, dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), photosensitive devices, force actuator, piezoelectricity material and devices, new process technology for optoelectronic device fabrication, and basic technology research regarding industrializing OLEDs.

Our laboratory has one professor, one postdoctor, one business assistant, 10 doctoral candidates and three undergraduates. The research projects which are being presided, or participated, or have been completed by our laboratory comprise an array of Peking University Industrial and Study Base Construction Fund, National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Key Research Plan of NSFC for Photonic and Optoelectronic Information Materials, NSFC-KOSE joint research program, “863” program and “973” program of science and technology ministration. In 2010, Our laboratory gained many important fruits, including in charge of the National 973 Basic Research Program of China (Proffessor Zou as Chief Scientist).

In recent years, we have reaped a host of research fruits, which include bistable LED, multicolor emitting device, white color emitting device, flexible OLEDs fabrication technology, ITO-less flexible dye-sensitized solar cells, super high external quantum efficiency OLEDs light source structure, fine-pattern technology for cathode fabrication of OLEDs, highly efficient dye-sensitized solar cells, flexible energy conversion/storage devices and related functional nanomaterials, etc..

We sincerely hope to carry on various kinds of cooperative activities and exchanges with individuals and organizations both at home and abroad.
