On May 29, 2025, two students from our group, Xinlei Huangfu and Tianyu Li, completed their PhD thesis defense. The defense committee experts included Prof. Meixiang Wang, Prof. Shaowu Wang, Prof. Liangbing Gan, Prof. Chunming Cui, Prof. Junlong Zhang, and Prof. Wenliang Huang. In addition, Prof.  Zhang, Prof. Xi, and Dr. Wei also attended the defense.

      Xinlei Huangfu (PhD student since 2021) focused on white phosphorus activation, and Tianyu Li (direct-PhD student since 2020) worked on the synthesis of rare-earth main-group multiple bonds. They presented their research achievements and future plans to the committee and all the teachers and students. The committee members gave positive feedback and shared many helpful suggestions. On the same day, Yuanjin Chen, Xianghui Shi, and Xuechao Yan, who are guided by Professor Xi and Professor Wei, also defended their PhD theses.

      In addition, Dr. Peifeng Mei from our group, along with Dr. Rui Feng and Dr. Zhubao Yin from the nitrogen fixation team, completed their postdoctoral exit defense. The committee also recognized their excellent research work.

    In the end, the committee approved all five PhD students' defenses and recommended awarding them the degree of Doctor of Science. The three postdoctoral researchers also passed their exit defenses. Congratulations to all of them! We wish them a bright future and great success ahead!
