Congratulations on the release of the new book 'Foundation and Applications of Black Phosphorus and White Phosphorus,' co-authored by Professor Zhang

Prof. Zhang from our group, in collaboration with Prof. Yu from the Shenzhen Advanced Technology Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has co-authored a new book titled "Black Phosphorus, White Phosphorus: Fundamentals and Applications." This book is one of the volumes in the "Frontiers and Technology Series in Phosphorus Science" and provides a systematic and comprehensive summary of the new achievements in the field of elemental phosphorus science, particularly focusing on its fundamental and research aspects.

The book explores the properties, preparation methods, and extensive applications of the three main allotropic forms of phosphorus: white phosphorus, red phosphorus, and black phosphorus. These applications span across various fields including microelectronics, optoelectronics, energy catalysis, biomedicine, and biochemical detection. It serves as an important contribution to the field of phosphorus science.

Black phosphorus, as the only two-dimensional elemental semiconductor with a direct bandgap, holds the potential to become a core material in the next-generation semiconductor industry. Additionally, it exhibits significant promise in fields such as photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, and biomedicine. Red phosphorus, widely used as a flame retardant, plays a critical role in materials science and synthetic chemistry. Meanwhile, white phosphorus is undergoing a notable transition from coordination compound synthesis to organic phosphine synthesis, opening up new prospects and opportunities for the field of phosphorus chemistry. Our research group has maintained a strong focus on the study of white phosphorus, recognizing its importance in materials science and synthetic chemistry. The unique properties and multifunctionality of white phosphorus make it a central component of our research, and we firmly believe that white phosphorus will continue to play a crucial role in the development and innovation of organic phosphorus chemistry.

This book serves as valuable reference material for researchers and professionals in the field of phosphorus science and is suitable for university faculty and students, as well as related technology experts. The publication of "Black Phosphorus, White Phosphorus: Fundamentals and Applications" enriches the research significance of elemental phosphorus materials, has the potential to enhance the application value of phosphorus resources, and supports China's goals in advanced manufacturing for 2030 and carbon neutrality. It is expected to have a significant impact on the future of phosphorus science.
